Lake Guntersville

Over the weekend my hubby fished in a bass tournament at Lake Guntersville in North Alabama. I went with him to have a mini weekend birthday getaway.. It went by really fast and I missed my little man tremendously! But Lake Guntersville didn’t disappoint. The landscape and sunset were not to shabby. Here are some photos from the weekend!

Top Favorites of 2012!

Hi guys this is the first post of the Blog! Its been a long time coming and why not start it off with a bang, or a insanely long post! Originally this was going to be a top 12 of 2012 post but as most other fellow photographers have stated, its not possible to just pick 12! I ended up with 46..

This year has been amazing photography wise. I lived in Hatteras, North Carolina, which is on the Outer Banks, all year. My husband was stationed there with the U.S. Coast Guard and I was given the opportunity to witness the beauty of this beautiful coastal island. Sadly, at the end of this year my husbands career with the Coast Guard ended and we moved back home to Alabama. I sure will miss that little island and most of all the sun, surf, sand, and especially the sunsets..

So here it is! My top favorite photographs out of literally thousands. Hope you enjoy them!

In April a Civil War Reenactment came to the island. The first day was rainy and grey, typical Hatteras, but the second day was beautiful! These guys were awesome with their cannon firing and knowledge. They were based out of Virginia and do these quite often.

This was from my first and only time climbing the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. My Mom and I braved the tallest lighthouse in the United States this year and in the summer! I’m glad I conquered my fear of heights and climbed it because as you can see the view was quite breathtaking!

This was my first ever capture of lightning and it was in my backyard! After this capture I’ve been hooked on severe weather photography. Storm chasing is an awesome adrenaline rush!

Sometimes on Hatteras Island the wind is calm..Most of the time its not, but when it is its amazing! The water meets the horizon and you can’t tell where either of them start.
